The role is within the shared services team and will take responsibility for the management accounting provision, leading and mentoring a team of accountants.
Key duties will include:
Managing a team of management accountants, including recruitment, coaching, setting objectives, and conducting regular appraisalsLiaising with internal and external auditors to support smooth audit processes and ensure all documentation is in orderWorking closely with site-based teams to assist with annual budget planning and year-end statutory reporting requirementsProviding technical accounting guidance and support to colleagues across the Shared Services functionLeading or contributing to process improvement initiatives and project-based work to enhance operational efficiencyDeveloping and refining KPI dashboards and performance reporting across all Shared Services Centre departmentsOverseeing intercompany transactions to ensure charges are processed accurately and within agreed timescalesReviewing key accounting entries such as accruals, payroll journals, and prepayments to ensure accuracy and complianceApproving urgent or manual payments and reviewing weekly supplier payment runs for completeness and accuracyEnsuring month-end procedures are completed on time and maintaining effective relationships with site finance teamsCarrying out reviews of monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, and preparing full sets of accounts where required for business reviewVerifying reconciliations completed by the team and assisting with wider balance sheet integrity and controlThe successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with people management experience. You will have strong systems skills, including Excel.
