A well-established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their Corporate Audit and Advisory team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional looking to take the lead on audit assignments while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the development of the wider team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing audit fieldwork, planning and completion, delivering high-quality services to a broad portfolio of corporate and commercial clients.

Role Responsibilities

Prepare and manage audit plans to align with client objectives.Lead on-site audit teams, ensuring fieldwork is completed efficiently.Participate in planning discussions, identifying audit risks and strategies.Draft or review financial statements and audit documentation.Ensure effective use of audit software tools such as Caseware.Supervise, coach and review the work of junior audit team members.Draft management reports and discuss findings with clients.Monitor assignment budgets, timelines and risk procedures.Maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.Identify and communicate opportunities for broader service delivery.

Personal Requirements

ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).Strong background in external audit within a professional practice.Experienced in working directly with clients across various sectors.Skilled in Microsoft Office and audit software (e.g., Caseware).Confident leading teams and mentoring junior colleagues.Able to adapt to changing priorities and meet strict deadlines.Willing to travel to offices and client sites across East Anglia when required.

Role Requirements -

Supporting a portfolio of clients within the financial services sector, carry out audits using a bespoke risk-based audit approach.Assist on larger clients, completing relevant sections of the audit file as discussed and agreed at the planning meeting.Act in more of a senior capacity on smaller clients reporting directly to the manager. For these particular audits, the individual would be responsible for the planning of the audit file right through to the completion sections including drafting the financial statements, the management letter and the letter of representation.As required, supervise and effectively delegate work to less experienced members of the audit team as agreed by the senior.Communicate with the audit senior regularly on the audit and make recommendations to them on how our clients can improve their accounting systems and controls.Appraise less experienced members of the audit team following completion of the jobs worked on with them.Work between the office and client premises (overnight stays may be required), with the ability to work from home where agreed.

Person Requirements -

Either an ACA or ACCA active studier with at least 2+ years' experience in either a pure or heavily focused audit role working for a prominent UK based firm in the capacity of Audit Associate/Trainee/Semi-senior.Experience with clients in the financial services sector would be advantageous but not essential.Confident is leading audit assignments for smaller clients from the initial planning phase through to completion.Previous experience of leading/reviewing the work of a small team would be desirable.Experience of Caseware or similar accounts production software would be highly desirable.
