As an Audit Senior, you'll take ownership of audit assignments, lead fieldwork, and play a key role in developing junior team members, all while maintaining strong, trusted client relationships.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion.Supervising and mentoring junior team members.Managing client relationships and delivering clear, actionable insights.Ensuring audits are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with standards.Working closely with managers and partners on a variety of assignments.

Requirements:

Proven experience in audit, ideally at Senior level. But this position could also be the perfect next step up for an experienced Audit Semi-Senior looking to progress into a Senior role.ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified with strong technical knowledge.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Confidence working directly with clients and managing multiple assignments.Experience using audit software systems.

The Role -
As an Audit Senior / Supervisor, you'll take ownership of audits for a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized clients across a diverse range of industries. You'll work closely with managers and junior team members to ensure audits are delivered efficiently on time, and to a high standard.
You'll also play a key role in staff development, client communication, and the continuous improvement of audit quality and efficiency.

Role Requirements -
Lead audits from planning through to completion for a variety of clients.
Supervise, train, and review the work of audit juniors and semi-seniors.
Perform risk assessments and identify key audit focus areas.
Apply advanced audit techniques, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
Draft and review financial statements and audit reports, communicating findings to managers.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of timesheets, appraisals, and audit documentation.
Design and execute effective audit testing procedures, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Review forecasts and going concern considerations, performing sensitivity analyses and challenging assumptions.
Liaise with tax teams regarding provisions, computations, and returns.
Prepare comprehensive audit summary and highlights reports for management and partners.
Reassess audit risks throughout the engagement and ensure all adjustments are documented appropriately.

Person Requirements -
ACA / ACCA qualified with ideally 3+ years within an audit focussed role working for a well-regarded UK based regional accounting firm.
Proven experience leading audits and managing audit teams.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - confident with both clients and colleagues.
Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Motivational team player with strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Commercially aware with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.

This is a hands-on role, which, based from the offices located conveniently to Victoria Station, will require you to work under your own initiative working on year-end accounts assignments & ad-hoc projects, assisting with audit work & occasional basic bookkeeping support for numerous clients.

The firm therefore require an accountant (Partly Qualified or QBE) with a UK based blended audit and accounts background (ideally 50/50) to carry out the following:

Role Requirements -
Preparation of accounts for corporate and non-corporate as well as not-for-profit entities to a high and professional standard for review by partners/managers.
Performing audit functions as part of a team, including on site field work and testing for review by audit seniors/manager.
Dealing with some client bookkeeping, VAT returns & management accounts assignments, when required.
Preparation of Corporation & Income Tax Computations & CT600 Returns.
Preparation and submission of company statutory forms and accounts and processing statutory documents.

Person requirements-
At least 2+ years' experience in a mixed accounts and audit position working for a UK based practice
Ideally studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as the AAT, ACA or ACCA although those qualified by experience will be considered.
Proficient in the use of accounting software, ideally IRIS, Xero, Sage 50 and are a competent user of MS Office packages such as Excel & Word
Proactive in their approach to the role and the requirements of the firm.
Ability to communicate and interact with staff and clients on a professional level.

Role Requirements -

Working on large audit clients, managing & leading an audit team, and completing technical work
Liaising directly with clients to finalise their position.
Preparing budgets and reviewing actual costs, keeping the Head of Audit up to date with any overruns
Helping with / leading one off projects to support the growth of the firm.
Involvement in pitching for and winning new work.
Being confident in billing clients for work done, increasing fees or quotes where necessary and ensuring any extra or additional work is explained clearly and in a timely manner.
Lead, inspire and mentor a team of audit professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Selecting, briefing, and assisting members of the team on assignments
Identify training and development needs within the team and implement effective training programmes to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Staff management, including having regular check in meetings to set and monitor objectives, and approving timesheets.
Conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and supporting career progression within the team

Person Requirements -

ACA or ACCA qualified with 5+ years' experience ideally working for a medium sized UK based firm in the capacity of Audit Manager or Senior Manager.
Proven track record of managing and reviewing an audit team.
Experience of attending and participating in client pitches would be highly desirable.
Willingness to become an RI would be highly desirable
