Butler Rose Practice is pleased to be working with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants located in Wolverhampton City Centre. This respected firm supports a diverse portfolio of SME clients, sole traders, and partnerships, and due to continued growth, they are looking to welcome an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Semi-Senior to their team.
This is a hands-on opportunity that offers exposure to a broad range of responsibilities. You will work closely with senior staff and clients while also playing a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting the firm's collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and SME clientsAssist with the production of management accountsOversee bookkeeping tasks and VAT return submissionsMaintain regular client communication, offering day-to-day accounting supportMentor and support junior team membersEnsure compliance with deadlines and regulatory standardsContribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and team efficiencyCandidate ProfileAAT Level 3 (or higher), ACA/ACCA part-qualified, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 2 years' experience in a general practice accountancy firmSound knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and accounts preparationWell-organised with strong time management and attention to detailProactive, professional, and confident in client-facing scenariosAble to work independently and collaboratively within a teamExperience using Xero and Sage (desktop and cloud-based)Familiarity with standard tax processes and softwareKeen to support and share knowledge with junior colleaguesStrong verbal and written communication skillsBenefitsSupportive and flexible working cultureExposure to a broad range of accounting services and client sectorsStudy support and ongoing professional developmentGenuine career progression opportunities in a growing practiceModern, well-serviced city centre office location If you are now considering a move to a more progressive role and supportive firm, and would be interested in joining a well establish brand based out of modern and well serviced offices, please do not hesitate in applying now for this immediately available opportunity.
