Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger
Location: Westcroft, Milton Keynes

Butler Rose is partnering with one of our clients in Milton Keynes to recruit an Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger to support their team. This is temporary role up until Christmas, office-based and paying up to £14 per hour PAYE.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their finance career, whether you have recently started your career in accounts or have a couple of years' experience and are looking to develop your Purchase Ledger skills within a well-established business.

You will join a supportive team and gain hands-on experience across high-volume invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, invoice approvals and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities
Process approximately 500 purchase invoices per week, including email capture, scanning and registering invoices within the Keyloop Drive system.
Download invoices and credit notes daily from vehicle manufacturer systems.
Match invoices to electronic Goods Received Notes for payment approval.
Review and progress internal purchase invoice approvals.
Code approved purchase invoices into the general ledger.
Deal with supplier queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues.
Produce monthly supplier statement reconciliations for a range of supplier accounts.
Complete Purchase Ledger month-end processes, ensuring payments are allocated, documentation is processed, accounts are reconciled and the Purchase Ledger agrees to the general ledger.
Work as part of the wider Purchase Ledger team, managing an allocated range of supplier accounts and retail sites.
Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the Senior Accounts Assistant.

About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who are early in their finance career and keen to build their experience within Purchase Ledger.

You will ideally have:
Some previous experience in Accounts, Purchase Ledger or a similar finance environment.
Ideally, experience within the retail automotive environment.
Good IT skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Keyloop Drive or Rev8.35 Dealer Management System would be advantageous.
Experience of working within a robust and well-controlled financial environment, ideally across multiple outlets.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
