Butler Rose is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the finance team of a prominent and thriving business headquartered in Plymouth. This is an excellent role for a proactive and detail-oriented individual looking to make an impact in a dynamic environment.Role OverviewReporting to the Finance Management team, you will play a key role within the finance team, managing several cost centres and ensuring accurate and timely recording of expenditure. The role encompasses a variety of financial tasks, including cost analysis, invoice processing, and supporting budgeting activities.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Centre Management: Taking ownership of selected cost centres and balance sheet codes.Financial Journals: Posting and evidencing monthly accruals, prepayments, and other journals as required.Cost Analysis: Reviewing costs against budgets and reporting key variances to the Finance Manager.Accounts Payable: Full accounts payable responsibilities for all property invoices using the company's data capture system.Payment Preparation: Handling quarterly/monthly rent payment preparation.Fixed Assets: Reviewing and posting transactions, including depreciation.Budgeting & Forecasting: Supporting the preparation of budgets and reforecasts.Month-End & Year-End Deadlines: Playing an active role in meeting critical financial deadlines.Ad Hoc Tasks: Supporting the finance team with additional duties as required.Skills & RequirementsFinancial qualification (AAT or equivalent) is preferred.Excellent communication and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.Proficiency in IT, particularly with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.What's on OfferRecognised and accredited accounting qualification support.Pension scheme.Long service awards.Employee discount.Cycle to work scheme.If this role is of interest, please apply with a copy of your CV. Your primary focus will be to clear the backlog and support the Accounts Payable function to get operations back on track.
