Butler Rose, Public Practice is delighted to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Accounts Senior. This growing firm, currently comprising around 30 staff, is expanding due to continued success and client demand.

As Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position also involves supervising junior team members and contributing to the smooth execution of month-end and year-end processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting activities, including ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivablePrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustmentsProduce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and internal controlsSupervise, mentor, and review work completed by junior accounting staffSupport and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing proceduresAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisLiaise with external auditors, providing relevant documentation and explanationsSupport tax preparation and ensure timely submission of statutory filingsRecommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyMaintain accurate and well-organised accounting documentationCandidate ProfileACCA/ACA Qualified, or Qualified by Experience3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate or public practice settingStrong technical knowledge of accounting standards and principlesProficiency with accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailConfident communicator with strong organisational and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
