Senior Bookkeeper
Part or full time options
Remote working - Must be local to the south coast area
Salary up to £40,000 (full time equivalent)
Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be supporting a small but growing accountancy practice based along the south coast. This is a modern, chartered firm who offer full accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll services to their growing client base.
Due to business growth and success, they are now looking to hire a Senior Bookkeeper on a part time basis (although full time will be considered for the right candidate). Hours can be flexible and negotiable but will sit around 25-30 per week. The role will be predominantly remote with travel to the Southampton office for team meetings.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking firm as they expand and look to bring new clients on-board. The role will predominantly run the bookkeeping function for the office but will also look after a small portfolio of payroll clients.
Role Responsibilities -
* Manage a portfolio of limited company, sole trader, and partnership clients from a diverse range of industry sectors.
* Completing full bookkeeping for all clients.
* Ensure general bookkeeping is completed in a timely manner.
* Monthly reporting.
* Bank reconciliations.
* Managing monthly payroll for a small portfolio of clients.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns, dealing with HMRC queries.
* Data entry using various accounting software
* Liaising with clients and their representatives/managers.
Person Responsibilities -
* At least 3+ years' experience gained as a Bookkeeper/Senior Accounts Assistant working for a UK based accountancy practice.
* AAT qualified would be ideal but latter stages of AAT or candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
* Highly organised with good attention to detail.
* Flexibility of approach as there will be lots of variety within the role.
* Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
* The ability to be able to work independently, managing your own time, and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
