Audit Manager (Hybrid)
Salary range: £60,000 (DOE)
Location: Bootle, Liverpool

Are you an experienced Audit Manager or ambitious Assistant Audit Manager looking for your next challenge?

ButlerRose North Practice is working with a well-established firm whos looking for a talented Audit Manager to join their forward-thinking and dynamic accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a highly experienced audit team, working closely with Directors to deliver exceptional audit services across a diverse and growing client portfolio.

Youll have the opportunity to take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, build long-term client relationships, and play a key role in developing the next generation of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion.
Work alongside Directors to identify opportunities and provide strategic advice to clients.
Develop strong client relationships and become a trusted advisor.
Gain a deep understanding of clients businesses and deliver exceptional service.
Oversee audit fieldwork, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with professional standards.
Review audit files and reports, ensuring high technical standards are maintained.
Coach, mentor, and develop Audit Seniors and Trainees.
Support business development initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively within a fast-paced environment.
About You

Personal Requirements:
ACA or ACCA qualification.
Proven experience as an Audit Manager or Assistant Audit Manager within an accountancy practice.
Experience managing a varied audit portfolio, including owner-managed businesses.
Strong technical audit knowledge and understanding of current accounting standards.
Experience of audit software and systems, with knowledge of CCH being advantageous.
Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
A proactive, collaborative, and commercially minded approach.
The ability to thrive in a progressive and fast-paced environment.

You may currently be an Audit Senior or Assistant Manager within a larger firm and feel ready to take that next step. You may already have the technical audit skills but want more responsibility, client exposure and involvement in the wider practice.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of audit assignments, managing them from planning through to completion, while becoming a key point of contact for clients.

You'll also manage and support a small team of 3-4 people and have the opportunity to become involved in pitches, tenders, business development and identifying opportunities within existing client relationships.

Importantly, there is a clear longer-term opportunity to progress towards RI status, with the successful individual expected to understudy the existing management team and ultimately play a leading role in the firms audit offering.

WHO WOULD SUIT THIS ROLE?

We're looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a strong practice background and solid audit experience.

What's particularly important is that you are comfortable working across a broader practice environment. This is unlikely to suit someone whose experience has been exclusively audit-focused and who wants to remain within a specialist audit-only role.

Experience of SRA Accounts Rules Reviews would be advantageous but is not essential.
