Are you an ambitious AUDIT SEMI SENIOR looking to develop your audit career within a growing and supportive practice?

Would you like to gain hands-on experience across a diverse client portfolio, work closely with experienced Managers and Directors and take increasing responsibility for your own audit assignments?

Butler Rose Public Practice Northern Division is delighted to be working with an established and growing independent accountancy and audit practice based in Wilmslow.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Audit Semi Senior to strengthen their existing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ACA/ACCA part-qualified accountant or experienced audit professional looking to build on their existing experience and progress within practice.

Please Note: a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for this position, as the role involves occasional travel to client premises.

THE ROLE

As an Audit Semi Senior, you will work alongside experienced Seniors, Managers and Directors, gaining exposure to the full audit process from planning through to completion.

You will work across a varied client portfolio including motor dealerships, FCA-regulated businesses, charities, retail organisations, UK subsidiaries of international groups and owner-managed businesses.

The role is predominantly audit-focused, with the opportunity to gain additional exposure to accounts preparation and corporation tax depending on your interests and experience.


The practice uses MWP for audit, with IRIS and TaxCalc supporting accounts and corporation tax work. The audit methodology is based on Mercia, providing a structured framework across assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting with external audit assignments from planning through to completionCompleting audit testing and taking responsibility for allocated sections of audit filesAssisting with audit planning and preparationAttending client premises to undertake audit fieldworkPreparing clear and accurate working papersIdentifying issues and discussing findings with the Senior or ManagerDeveloping strong relationships with clients and providing a professional serviceWorking effectively to deadlines and agreed budgetsAssisting with the preparation and completion of audit files using MWPSupporting accounts and corporation tax work where appropriateDeveloping your technical knowledge and professional skillsSupporting junior colleagues as your experience and confidence develop


ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, enthusiastic and keen to progress their career within practice.

You will ideally have:

ACA or ACCA studies underway, or a strong desire to progress professionallyPrevious experience within an accountancy practice environmentPractical experience of external auditA good understanding of audit procedures and statutory requirementsStrong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsGood communication skills and confidence dealing with clientsExperience using audit software MWP experience would be advantageousFamiliarity with IRIS and TaxCalc would be beneficialExposure to Mercia methodology would be an advantage but is not essentialA proactive, positive and collaborative approachThe ability to take responsibility for your own work while working effectively as part of a teamA full UK driving licence and access to a car

Personal Requirements -

Be ACA / ACCA qualified or part qualified.Have experience in external audit and meticulous attention to detail.Have worked on a range of different audits, including owner-managed business.Be tech-savvy, with a knowledge of CCH desirable.Thrive in a collaborative and progressive environment.Love getting to know people and be a fantastic communicator.
