Butler Rose is recruiting on behalf of an established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Burnley, which is looking to strengthen its team with an Accounts & Personal Tax Semi Senior.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with experienced colleagues and a varied client base, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesPreparing draft corporation tax computations and supporting tax documentationPreparing self-assessment tax returns for individuals with a variety of income sources, including employment, property, investments, pensions and overseas incomeAssisting with Capital Gains Tax matters, including 60-day CGT returnsPreparing VAT returns and supporting clients with associated queriesLiaising directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure work progresses efficientlyCommunicating with HMRC regarding client taxation mattersCompleting assignments accurately, within agreed deadlines and budgetsSupporting the wider team with accounting and taxation assignments as required

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in accountancy practice, takes pride in producing accurate work and is keen to continue developing their technical skills.

IDEALLY YOU'LL HAVE....

Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice, covering year-end accounts preparation and personal taxAAT or ATT qualification, or studying towards ACA or ACCA with an interest in continuing your professional developmentExperience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesKnowledge of self-assessment tax returns and general personal tax complianceAn understanding of relevant accounting standards and compliance requirementsStrong communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clientsExcellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlinesA positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn
