A leading Top 10 accountancy firm is seeking a Senior or Assistant Manager to join its Accounts & Business Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking for a client-facing role with responsibility for a varied portfolio, covering accounts preparation and review, management accounts, VAT, CIS and MTD for Income Tax. The role offers significant client interaction, including working at client premises, alongside the opportunity to support and mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the wider development of the team.
Role Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for planning, deadlines, workflow and delivery of assignments.Prepare and review accounts through to management accounts level, ensuring work is accurate, compliant and delivered to a high standard.Prepare and review VAT and CIS returns, identifying and escalating any technical issues where appropriate.Support clients with accounting software, helping them improve processes and maintain accurate financial records.Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing clear, practical accounting and financial guidance.Identify opportunities for additional services, variations in scope and value-added work, with support from senior management where required.Carry out client work both in the office and on-site, working independently while maintaining strong communication with the wider team.Review working papers and assignments, ensuring review points are addressed and work is ready for senior/partner review.Support and mentor junior team members, helping to develop their technical knowledge, skills and confidence.Monitor work in progress and draft fees, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.Personal Requirements
Previous experience within an accountancy practice.ACA, ACCA, AAT qualified or qualified by experience.Strong knowledge of VAT and CIS regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge when supporting clients and colleagues.Experience preparing and reviewing accounts through to management accounts level.Confident working directly with clients, including at client premises.Good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting software, with the ability to assist both clients and junior colleagues.Strong attention to detail, with pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.Ability to manage your own portfolio and deadlines, taking ownership of assignments from start to finish.Commercial and client-focused approach, with the confidence to identify additional opportunities and scope changes.Strong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to support the development of junior team members.Benefits

A leading Top 10 accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Accounts & Business Advisory Assistant Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or an experienced accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a large, established practice. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, review accounts and tax work, support complex financial reporting and provide commercial advice, while also taking responsibility for developing junior members of the team. The role offers a strong blend of technical accounting, client management, advisory work and people leadership.
Role Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for planning, resourcing and delivery of assignments.Build strong client relationships and develop a clear understanding of clients' businesses, challenges and risks.Review accounts, tax returns and other accounting work, ensuring high standards of accuracy and compliance.Prepare medium-sized sets of accounts and review non-complex VAT returns.Support clients with financial reporting, corporation tax, VAT and wider accounting matters.Identify opportunities for additional services and value-added work, escalating proposals to senior management where appropriate.Support fee discussions with clients and identify variations to agreed scope at an early stage.Review work in progress and ensure assignments are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.Identify technical issues requiring specialist input and liaise with relevant tax or VAT specialists where required.Provide clients with high-level guidance on areas including R&D relief, group loss relief and other business advisory matters.Review key areas of assignments and ensure all review points are addressed before partner review.Provide technical guidance and training to more junior colleagues.Undertake line management responsibilities, including supporting performance reviews and development plans.Assist managers with team management responsibilities and participate in the recruitment and selection of junior staff.Support planning discussions, monitor assignment progress and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.Personal Requirements
ACA, ACCA or CA qualified, or qualified by relevant experience.Strong experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and taking ownership of deadlines.Strong technical knowledge of accounting and professional standards.Experience preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns.Good understanding of corporation tax, VAT and wider accounting matters.Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the confidence to discuss work, deadlines, fees and technical matters with clients.Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities for additional services and advisory work.Comfortable reviewing work and providing constructive feedback and technical support to junior colleagues.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to make decisions within your remit and escalate issues appropriately.A high level of attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.Benefits
