Management Team

Simon Wicks
CEO

Simon has worked in accountancy and finance recruitment since 1997. He initially spent six years with Hays Accountancy & Finance, where he grew the Swindon team before moving into a regional role heading up Hays’ qualified finance division. He then moved to Reed in 2003 where he swiftly established Reed Finance in the Southwest and South Wales, before a series of promotions which saw him grow the brand across the South, East, Midlands and London. Simon moved to Sheridan Maine as a Board Director in 2012 where he successfully established a brand new accountancy and finance business for them in the Southwest, before moving to nGAGE in 2014 to become CEO of Butler Rose.

Simon has an in-depth knowledge of the accountancy and finance recruitment market, combined with a track record of strategically growing successful teams whilst delivering first-class service to a range of client organisations.

In his spare time, Simon enjoys good food, travelling and spending time with his three sons. He also has an interest in particle physics and is a member of a Poker league!

 

Anthony Tait
Divisional Manager – Milton Keynes and South Midlands

Anthony has been in recruitment since 2004, when he joined Reed and swiftly won the ‘Best Newcomers’ award. He swiftly carved himself a niche in the accountancy and finance market, and in recent years has managed one of the most successful teams in Reed Finance, seeing year-on-year growth for 3 years. Anthony joined Butler Rose in 2014 to head up the South Midlands division.

Anthony has vast experience in the mid-to-senior level accountancy and finance marketplace, with a large network of loyal clients and candidates. He has a proven track record of attracting talent into a range of clients from SMEs to large corporates, including working on an array of search and selection assignments.

In his spare time, Anthony likes fine dining, travelling and keeping fit. He also has a keen interest in many sports and in current business affairs.

 

Lynsey Rattigan
Divisional Manager - Birmingham & the West Midlands

A trained accountant, Lynsey gained 12 years accounting experience before moving into accountancy and finance recruitment in 2000. She spent two years with Hudson, before moving to Reed in 2002. Here she successfully established the Reed Finance brand in the West Midlands - growing a large and successful team - before moving to Butler Rose in 2014.

Lynsey has particular strengths in retained search and selection, having used her extensive network combined with her accountancy knowledge to successfully seek out the perfect candidate for a wealth of clients.

Outside of work, Lynsey has a keen interest in travelling, art – owning paintings by Caroline Shotton, Jeff Rowland and Mike Jackson – and fostering kittens for a local sanctuary!

 

Samantha Powell
Executive Consultant - Oxfordshire

Samantha began her career in accountancy and finance recruitment in 2002. Since this time she has worked with a range of clients from SMEs to large blue-chip companies, building a loyal client and candidate base through delivering excellent client service. After joining her previous employer Reed Finance in 2010 Samantha won the Overall Newcomer award across the whole of the Reed recruitment business in her first 12 months.

Samantha has a particular specialism in senior and executive level roles within her chosen geographical markets, and we were delighted to welcome Samantha to Butler Rose in 2014.

Outside of work, Samantha loves travelling, fine wine and dining, and is passionate about rugby.  She likes to force herself outside of her comfort zone and take up a pursuit or activity every 3 months: to date this has included rock climbing, indoor skydiving, Segway and ‘Spheremania’!

 

Karen Rich
Divisional Manager - Southampton

Karen Rich has worked as a senior and executive level financial recruiter in the South Coast, Hampshire and Thames Valley areas since 1997. Having worked for an international accountancy recruiter, she joined Reed Accountancy and subsequently became a founder member of the qualified specialist, Reed Finance in 2004.

Karen played a key part in the success of this business, having created and managed highly successful teams across the Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Sussex and Surrey areas. She is also a hands on recruiter, having worked closely with a network of key clients and candidates to ensure a high quality service and consistent results.

In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her young daughter, swimming and outdoor activities.

 

Gareth Dagger
Divisional Manager - Devon, Cornwall & Somerset

Gareth has over 10 years’ experience of working in the Devon, Cornwall & Somerset markets, having previously worked as a Business Director for a global recruiter. During his time here he built a number of successful teams, and achieved year-on-year growth for nine consecutive years.

Gareth is very well networked in the Accountancy & Finance market in the South West and has worked with a wide range of organisations in varying sectors, from SMEs to PLCs. He has recruited from newly qualified level, through to Finance Director & CFO roles, on both a retained assignment and contingency basis. He prides himself on providing an honest and consultative approach, offering impartial advice and understanding the pressures that go with recruiting a new member of staff or finding that next job. Gareth's ultimate aim is to find the right candidate for the right role, every time.

Outside of work, Gareth likes to spend time with his family and enjoys most sports. He plays football in a local league and also follows Exeter Chiefs, watching as many games as he can each season at Sandy Park.
