Our client who are a leader in British engineering, are looking for a Employee Relations Advisor to join their people services team in Plymouth. About the Role
This role is an essential role in cultivating a positive and productive workplace culture where sickness, and absenteeism is addressed proactively with the workforce. As a hands-on position, it is responsible for ensuring the effective resolution of all Employee Relations cases.
Key Responsibilities
As a HR Advisor, you'll be responsible for:
Employee Relations Case Work: Support managers in performance improvement and disciplinary actions, specifically in relation to sickness and absence. Develop and deliver targeted action plans to reduce sickness absence.Employee Support & Conflict Resolution: Provide advice around workplace issues, mediate conflicts, and investigate grievances.Policy Development & Compliance: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and Advise management on policy matters.Employment Relations Case Management: Manage a range of complex and contentious matters with high-levelAbsence Management: Proactively identify and implement service improvements in absence management.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records and report on employee relations trends, and KPI's.Advisory & Consultation: Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters.What You'll Bring To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Essential:A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).Demonstrable experience in employee relations, grievance and disciplinary cases.Desirable:A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).Experience in the manufacturing sector.This role is in office 5 days per week in Plymouth.

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to take ownership of a varied caseload, support line managers, and contribute to a people-first culture. You'll work closely with the Head of People and regional managers to coach, guide, and deliver practical HR solutions across a busy retail network.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a wide range of employee relations cases, including grievances, absence, and disciplinary matters.Use HR and business KPI data to identify trends and drive meaningful change.Coach store managers on all aspects of people management and policy.Champion the internal HR brand - approachable, solutions-focused, and trusted.Support continuous improvement by keeping up to date with employment law and best practice.What We're Looking For:
