Butler Rose is pleased to be partnering with a Housing Association in the search for a Rent & Service Charge Officer. This is a 6 months temporary contract and will be home based, so you can be located anywhere in the UK.As the Rent & Service Charge Officer you will be part of the rent team and assist in managing the rent and service charge process, ensuring that rents and service charges are calculated in line with company policy.
Key duties:
• Prepare service charge schedules for all schemes annually, correctly calculating revised charges based on policy, for review and sign off by Customer Service Delivery
• Annually calculate new rents in accordance with Housing Corporation guidelines and service charge standards
• Supervise the uploading of new rents and service charges into the rent system, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
• Produce letters and communications for tenants, ensuring compliance with legal deadlines
• Calculate service charges for new developments, for review and sign off by Customer Service Delivery
• Contribute towards collection and analysis of annual RSR data
• Responsible for developing and training service charge assistants
Key Attributes required:
• Must have demonstrable experience working with Rent & Service Charge setting
• Worked in housing sector or similar services
• Knowledge of service charge policy and affordable housing rent restructuring.
• Experience of co-ordinating, analysing and presenting complex sets of numerical information
• Strong IT and Mathematics skills
• Experience of creating and using complex spreadsheets
• Able to work well within a team but also have initiative to work alone
