Job description
My client, a multi-site established accountancy practice in Manchester and the North West is currently expanding their team. They are looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper preferably with an accountancy practice background to take on all bookkeeping duties and clients and to sit in the Management Accounts Team. This role is Part-Time across 4 or 5 days and may suit parents who wish to work shorter hours to accommodate child care duties. Equally it may suit an individual looking for work/life balance and a shorter working week but in a stable and consistent environment.Summary of Role
Competent Bookkeeper required with good all round general accounting knowledge who can work independently without supervision and has a number of years’ experience in a similar position
Qualifications/ Experience
• Good standard of education
• AAT qualified or thorough experience
• Providing bookkeeping services to Clients
• Dealing with clients face to face
• Experienced in Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger/Nominal Ledger
• Able to take accounts to trial balance stage
• Experience with Foreign currency transactions
• Processing and submitting VAT returns
Systems
• Proficient in Xero, Sage and Microsoft packages – especially Excel
• Knowledge of Receipt Bank would be an advantage
Tasks
• Provide bookkeeping services to the business's clients as delegated by the Management Accounts team
• Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Ledgers
• Completion of Bank Reconciliation
• Posting Wages journals
• Completing VAT returns
• Preparation of working papers to include Fixed Asset Register, Prepayments, Accruals, Wages Control Account, VAT Reconciliation
• Ensure regular liaison with multiple clients and able to work at client premises

• Likely to live close to the Manchester office
• Can drive with own transport
