Job description

Public Sector organisation with a site in Exeter. Opportunity to work remotely


Your role as Category Manager will be wide ranging in scope and will see you will take responsibility for managing all aspects spend within the relevant category. You will be tasked with the delivery of benefits, savings and efficiency improvements through the development of category strategies and take responsibility for procurement activities that engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Your duties include (but are not limited to):

• Developing and implementing a Category Management Strategy
• Delivering high value procurement activity, whilst maintaining compliance in line with regulation
• Lead contact with suppliers, ensuring best case outcomes for the organisation
• Work across the organisation to deliver improved procurement strategy
• Contract management
• Identify and manage supply chain risks and initiate plans to support corporate planning.


To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience:

• Experience of working within a public sector procurement function
• Qualified to degree level with relevant post qualification within Procurement
• Excellent communication, IT and analytical skills


• Excellent salary + benefits (including generous pension and leave entitlement)
• Opportunity for remote work
