The Company Overview:

A well-known public sector organisation on the Fylde Coast with 1,000+ employees are looking to appoint a Payroll Officer to work within their busy finance department. The organisation prides itself on delivering a quality service and they boast impressive staff retention levels across the board, which is achieved by offering diverse roles and development opportunities.

Your new role as Payroll Officer:

As Payroll Officer, you will report to an experience Payroll Manager working in a payroll team of 4 within a wider finance function. You will be required to deliver an accurate, on-time payroll service; ensure all payroll records are effectively maintained; handle payroll queries; deliver monthly and annual control checks including related MI; maintain comprehensive audit trails for internal and external stakeholders; complete statutory and other returns; and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

To be considered, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience within the public sector, ideally with large payroll volumes. Comprehensive training will be offered alongside a full study package for the CIPP qualification. You will demonstrate strong systems skills and be a keen learner, able to quickly pick up new systems and processes.
