Job description
My client, a busy well known manufacturer, are looking for an Accounts Junior to join their busy finance team.This is an entry level role for someone just starting employment, no qualifications are necessary.
The Accounts Junior will play a key role within the Head Office finance function and will report into the Finance Manager. This position will suit someone who is bright, ambitious and proactive, with the aspiration of becoming a qualified accountant within the business.
The successful candidate will gain valuable mentoring in the role as well as study support towards the AAT qualification (including day-release training at college.)
Key duties
The role within the team will include (but is not limited to) the below duties, which may change over time:
• Sales ledger processing, ensuring that cash postings are accounted for correctly daily.
• Supporting the group’s revenue recognition process through transactional processing.
• Assisting the Management Accountant with the preparation of the weekly debtor ledger for the Credit Control team.
• Uploading journals into the general ledger.
• Daily installation depot banking including the daily processing of funds claims from third party finance suppliers.
• Provision of cover for the Treasury Assistant, assisting with processing payments (both BACs and transfers).
• Responsible for petty cash.
• General assistance for the finance function at month end.
• Experience / Qualifications
• Strong GCSEs and A-Levels
• A desire to learn and make improvements.
• Ability to problem solve / recommend solutions.
• The drive and commitment to study for professional accountancy exams.
