The Company Overview:A large public sector organisation have appointed Butler Rose in their search for a Senior Accountant to take ownership for Capital and Systems Accounting duties. This opportunity has become available due to an internal promotion which reflects their culture of providing development opportunities and career advancement, and as such many staff within the organisation are long-standing employees who have enjoyed diverse and interesting roles across the board.
Your new role as Senior Accountant:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage a team of 4 junior accounts staff and be responsible for their training and development. You will work in a varied role with specific focus on the development of financial systems and capital accounting duties, providing valuable accountancy support to the organisation’s significant capital programme. You will deliver compliant annual accounts, provide specialist capital accounting knowledge and work with budget holders to set and monitor the capital programme. You will also be required to communicate effectively and build relationships with key stakeholders including Project Managers and external Auditors.
The Experience & Qualifications Required:
To be considered, you will be fully CCAB qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA) with strong staff management skills. You will demonstrate outstanding financial systems capabilities and have a background in capital accounting with strong working knowledge. You will be a good communicator, with the confidence to liaise at all levels of the organisation, providing advice and challenging where necessary.
