Job description
We are recruiting for a Payroll and HR administrator on behalf of a business on the outskirts of Portsmouth. This is a temporary to permanent position with an immediate start for the right candidate. The role will be accountable for the effective reporting of sickness, enhanced payments and timesheets into the payroll function. Working as part of the HR and payroll team, you will ensure information required for accurate processing of people payments is prepared in time.

Key role responsibilities:

• Reconcile all sickness forms submitted by managers to ensure they are completed accurately and timely, feeding back to the HR team where patterns of inaccuracy occur
• Reconcile forms with a rotering system to ensure data matches and is accurately recorded, amending and feeding back where required.
• Ensure all pay-related forms are fed into payroll in good time for monthly payroll cut off
• Processing of other pay-related paperwork to ensure accurate payments to employees
• Reconcile monthly timesheets, ensuring accurately completed and input correctly into payroll

Assisting with:

• Inputting payroll data onto Sage for the monthly pay run
• Calculate and post payroll deductions
• Issue statements of earnings and deductions
• Reconcile employee deductions
• Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
• Update payroll records by recording changes including salary increases
• Process new employees, terminations and change of circumstances
• Produce HMRC tax payments and ensure payments meet deadlines


We are seeking an experienced Payroll and HR administrator who is available at short notice for a temporary to permanent opportunity. Candidates should have experienced of working within both payroll and HR with knowledge of HMRC payroll regulations and requirements and of working with Sage.

Confidentiality, reliability and excellent team working, communication and numerical skills are a must.
