Job description
Butler Rose is currently exclusively representing a client in the Bournemouth area who is seeking a Senior Financial Planning Accountant on a fixed term contract until the end of June 2020.

The purpose of this position is to be a key member of the planning & performance team within Group Finance, delivering high quality, robust business plans, forecasts and investor relations presentations.

Key responsibilities include:

• To work with the Planning & Performance team to develop and continuously improve performance management reporting tools which can inform the regional and senior management of progress against business objectives and assist the management teams in driving business performance.
• To support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the Group using Adaptive Insights software and Excel, with responsibility for consolidating the Group position and providing insightful analysis into business performance.
• To prepare and input the group forecast consolidation adjustments
• To support with the monthly reforecast of the divisional sales and rental forecast each month (including sales operating costs)
• Support head office functions with forecasting and budgeting requirements. Preparation of monthly head office forecasts for review with each department.
• To work with the Planning & Performance team to deliver ad hoc analysis and presentations for the executive directors, board and investors.
• To provide performance management reporting on a monthly basis as required informing the strategic decision making requirements of senior management.
• To provide ad hoc financial analysis relating to the budgets or forecasts as required by senior management.
• To assist in the production of reports and analysis of information for the purposes of supporting any corporate financing transactions.

Person Specification:

Education and Qualifications

• Educated to degree level (minimum 2.1) or equivalent.
• Hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
• “Big Four” experience preferable but not essential.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and excel modelling skills.
• Ability to translate outputs to both a financial and non-financial audience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Adaptable and flexible to changing requirements.

Personal Attributes

• Be able to rapidly forge effective and collaborative working relationships with others, and work productively as part of a highly successful and driven team.
• Very comfortable interacting with senior directors and shareholders of the business.
• Able to think “out of the box” in order to deal with imperfect data and uncertainties and still derive useful information.
• Comfortable working under pressure to deliver high quality output to very tight deadlines on a regular basis.
• Highly driven, hard-working and self-starting with ambition to take their career to Board level.
